VENTURE FOR THE MONTH :

In the search for doing something Useful,Some of our KITES Members came across the a small high school in a remote village in Thathiratti pallayam 18 kms from Katpadi junction.The school,though started in 1967 having a strength of 210 students from 6th to 10th, has very poor facilities.Since it is very remote,there is only two buses for that area and not even a tea shop nearby.Almost 95% of the students are very very poor,most of them have to earn their own bread.





Since the school is located in a very remote area and does not have any basic facilities,even the staff who are allotted to work there get transfer and move to other schools.The school does not even get the help of government and,any small help provided, is insufficient.The Headmaster and P.T Sir provide most of the help the students need and have been serving the school tirelessly for 10 years.And to all our bewilderment, they have worked hard and have a pass percentage of 95% in 10th last academic year,with a first mark of 464!!!Not only that every year the students have excelled in sports and have gone and won in zonal's,district and state level.They have even won individual championship medals couple of times!!!!
Isn't it amazing for a school without even the basic facilities like throw ball or ground to shine like this?

So,We were really heart touched and asked the headmaster what can we to do help?
Since Exam's are going on for the 10th students, he asked us for two big ink bottles(for common use!).The headmaster had already provided fountain pens for them with his own money.Then
he asked us for ink eraser and pro-circle for 42 students.We collected 1000rs from nearby KITES members around Vellore at that time and bought all the things he asked along with pencil, scale and pouch and distributed them on Saturday or Monday.
