Our next step on August 27th

OUR NEXT VENTURE!!!
After the success of the first anniversary function, we are now looking forward to help more kids!
Members from KITES visited Govt. High school, Poigai and an orphanage from the same locality and will be helping 35 poor and needy kids with all their educational needs.
We will be checking all the particulars and helping the most needy of all by the end of this month.

As Katcheri Govt. Higher Sec. School, Salvanpet couldnt attend the function on June 19th, the members of our organisation, Naveen, Gokul, Nirmal, Ganesh and Mani made sure that they received the uniforms, bags, notebooks and stationery set.

THE GRAND 1ST ANNIVERSARY
KItes has planned to organise an event on 19th of june marking its 1st anniversary ..!! we are going to help 200 school students in and around vellore(govt schools).The grand function has been planned to be held in voorhees auditorium. The application forms(shown below) have been distributed to the concerned school and the final list of students will be out soon(for more details see previous post). We are going to provide uniforms, bag, notebooks,stationery items,school fees!! The honorable guests list and the program details will be updated soon.
This event is going to be very big,hence the budget will be more than a lakh.So, we need more contribution from all of you this time around.Since,we did not collect money for the past 5 months,we expect 500 from each person.Please donate as much as you can,the account details are given as below.Expecting your immense support...!!!

The Next Phase Of KITES
It's Time For Us To Re-Group Again.We Have been in-active for a long time.This break has compelled us to do something big.After long discussions we have decided to do some things in a systematic way.
As of now,After discussing with the members of KITES,We have decided to help the needy students in and around Vellore.To find out these needy students KITES with the help of social workers in Vellore will distribute forms (as shown below) in all government schools in and around Vellore.Needy students will fill out this form and send it to the address of KITES.With the help of members of other social organization in Vellore we will select the appropriate persons who really need help.
As all of us know that all schools will start their academic year in June,We will have to collect the list of people and as much as money as possible before the month of June.So, I Kindly Ask the Members to regroup with full strength and dedication this time.
We are hoping to help more than 300 students and make all heads turn. It's all in our hands to Unite and make this Hope a REALITY.
Since we have been silent for January and February, I kindly ask the Members of KITES to donate for both those month and this month also-As more money is needed for our next phase activity in JUNE and We Need a lot of money for the smooth running of the proposed Plan

VENTURE FOR THE MONTH :
In the search for doing something Useful,Some of our KITES Members came across the a small high school in a remote village in Thathiratti pallayam 18 kms from Katpadi junction.The school,though started in 1967 having a strength of 210 students from 6th to 10th, has very poor facilities.Since it is very remote,there is only two buses for that area and not even a tea shop nearby.Almost 95% of the students are very very poor,most of them have to earn their own bread.
Since the school is located in a very remote area and does not have any basic facilities,even the staff who are allotted to work there get transfer and move to other schools.The school does not even get the help of government and,any small help provided, is insufficient.The Headmaster and P.T Sir provide most of the help the students need and have been serving the school tirelessly for 10 years.And to all our bewilderment, they have worked hard and have a pass percentage of 95% in 10th last academic year,with a first mark of 464!!!Not only that every year the students have excelled in sports and have gone and won in zonal's,district and state level.They have even won individual championship medals couple of times!!!!
Isn't it amazing for a school without even the basic facilities like throw ball or ground to shine like this?
So,We were really heart touched and asked the headmaster what can we to do help?
Since Exam's are going on for the 10th students, he asked us for two big ink bottles(for common use!).The headmaster had already provided fountain pens for them with his own money.Then
he asked us for ink eraser and pro-circle for 42 students.We collected 1000rs from nearby KITES members around Vellore at that time and bought all the things he asked along with pencil, scale and pouch and distributed them on Saturday or Monday.
